Crystal is a wide open, steep, gnarly ski hill. When it has good snow (which is often), there’s no better place to be in the Pacific Northwest. Like political speeches during an election campaign, there’d been a non-stop storm track over the previous two weeks, depositing 6-8 feet of snow on top of the established 70 inch base. Not bad for mid April.
Throw in Spring’s ‘lack of crowds’, cold sunny weather, several inches of new fluff on Friday night and a top up Sunday morning, and you have a close to the perfect ski weekend.
Here’s some pics to prove it …
Jan and Emily dropping into Northway thru Gate 4 – Paradise Bowl

Some of the serious drop ins to Northway – Horseshoe Cliffs.

There a bit of snow here – bottom of Green Valley Chair.
And finally, a sequence of shots of me in Powder Bowl. Truly great skiing in one of my favorite patches of ski terrain anywhere 😉
