Pacific Northwest Ski blog (and a few other places!)

Lots or reports from skiing around the Pacific Northwest, with some East Coast excursions thrown in for good measure

Day 43 – Silver Mountain, Idaho

Another weekend travel day meant I could only ski Saturday, while Jan and our buddies got to enjoy some freshies on Sunday. Still, Saturday was a very fun day. The pistes were in magnificent condition, and if you were selective on the north facing slopes, there was challenge to be had, especially in the trees. And in typical Silver style, the slopes were mostly deserted, even for late March.

Around 2pm it started to dump snow, freshening up the conditions nicely. A run down the precipitous Tall Paul was highlight of the day, and enough to tip my thirst over towards the Rogue Pale Ale for happy hour in the bar. I just wish I could’ve stayed to ski the next day 😦

And of course, we had a few beers at night in out new Tickles the Tapeworm T-shirts – so very attractive!!

The Rightors enjoy a big beer too!

Saturday – 8100m

Season Totals: 43 days, 336,100 vertical metres, 12 powder days
